Grovla (710), Berg k., Senja
Grovla as seen from my kitchen window.
A short route description: start from Bjorvika in Mefjordvær and follow the road on the left hand side of the river Bjorelva into Stordalen. Continue up Smådalan to the left of Humpen (213) until you reach the uppper part of Stordalen. Turn West and ski up to the little lake at approx. 300 m. Continue up the East side of Grovla (25-40°) towards the NE ridge. The ridge leading to the summit is rather exposed. Bring crampons and an ice axe.
Distance to the summit: approx. 5 km. Climbed 29. April 2014.
