Meahccecohkka  (1226), Tromsø, Norway

Meahccecohkka as seen from Sieidi (1042) with the South ridge to the left.

Meahccecohkka is situated to the North of the glacier Gjømmerdalsbreen near Laksvatn in Troms. It has no name on the maps, but I have named it Meahccecohkka because the glacier below the summit is called Meahccejietnja and the valley Meahccevággi.

A brief description of the South ridge route: Start where Smalakelva reaches E6 in Lavangsdalen. There is a path that starts approx.
100 m to the south of the river. Follow the valley towards Smalakvatnet. The last bit up to the lake is quite steep and traverses an avalanche prone area. Continue over the lake and up to the pass to the North of the glacier Gjømmerdalsbreen. Follow the SW-ridge up to the actual South ridge where the climbing begins. The beginning of the South ridge is quite steep. The rest of the ridge is straightforward.
